Discover Sydney Harbour

September 16, 2011

Port Jackson is the name of Sydney Harbour, a beautiful creek that splits the city in two, crossed daily by thousands of vehicles and watercraft of all sizes. The name of this harbour was initially given by James Cook.

Discovering Sydney water means to appreciate the true soul of this city, with its picturesque skyline dominated by skyscrapers and the Opera House.

The Circular Quay is the main hub of Sydney Harbour. It rises in a small bay called Sydney Cove. The Circular Quay is the departure point of Sydney ferries, cruise ships and much more.

From Circular Quay you can also have a pleasant walk which allows you to enjoy a spectacular view of Harbour Bridge, as you can see from this Sydney harbour webcam.

Few minutes walk you can reach the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens. To the north you can find The Rocks, one of the most pleasant part of the city, home of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
